My name is Milly, I am 40+, and I have never married. I have no children of my own but am an aunt to 4 - 3 girls and 1 boy. I live in the same small town I grew up up in, just a couple miles from my parents. I enjoy crafting, reading, watching movies, cooking, baking, "treasure hunting" (aka, shopping at garage/estate sales and thrift stores), volunteering at church and with the local Boys & Girls Club, and spending time with my friends.

I have been making, selling, and teaching crafts most of my 40+ years of life. I have experience in many different craft techniques and media, thanks mostly to my Mom and my insatiable desire to learn new things.

And while I do create in a variety of media and with a variety of techniques, I do not consider myself a Jack (or Jill) of all trades but master of none. There are things I have not mastered -- and you won't find them for sale anywhere! I take great pride in my creations and offer only the best! Crochet is the first "craft" I learned, and my Mom taught me when I was 5 or 6. It will always be my favorite!

Painting, collage, decoupage, assemblage, altered art, spiral bound journals, and Christmas ornaments and decor are just a few of the other types of things you'll find me creating and selling. In 2006, I opened my Thistlecraft shop on Etsy, and a few months later helped form, and later became team leader for, the Etsy Texas Crafters team (I "retired" from this position in the summer of 2010)..

In July 2010, my Mom and I bought The Little Black Boxes. Neither of us specialize in any one particular craft but have enjoyed the challenge of perfecting many craft skills over the years. We are definitely no strangers to the world of Handmade, whether from the creative, business, or consumer points-of-view. We were incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to take over The Little Black Boxes, and we are striving to help this wonderful service continue to grow and thrive for many years to come.
