Hi! My name is Alice and this is my craft blog.  Most often you'll find me crocheting or knitting.  Less often I'll be embroidering, hand sewing, or using my sewing machine.  I like posting patterns and tutorials.  I love hearing from my visitors, so don't be shy!

&Stitches is a quarterly e-zine about embroidery and other hand sewing with a modern twist.

This issue (the first one!) is all about colour! How to find colour inspiration for your stitchy projects, a bit of colour theory and of course we have patterns too. One pattern is by our guest contributor and first interview-ee, Corinne McHie of SeptemberHouse.

We also asked a few other stitchers where they find their colour inspiration and we also manged to fit in a couple of book reviews. read more

Sublime Stitching on Unanimous Craft

Sublime Stitching is tiny! As in teeny-tiny! Sublime Stitching is an independently owned and operated honest-to-goodness home-grown business. It all started once upon a time...

Sublime Stitching was founded in Austin, Texas in 2001 by Jenny Hart, due to an overabundance of bunny-n-duckie patterns and outdated, overly-difficult instructions for embroidery. Unable to find alternative designs for embroidery that appealed to a new generation, Jenny decided to make them herself, and Sublime Stitching "This Ain't Your Gramma's Embroidery" was born.

Hoopla Book Signing at Assemble

Last night I attended the Book launch, signing and crafty workshop for Hoopla at Assemble Gallery & Studio. I had made a note of the event because the tag line of the book is: The Art of Unexpected Embroidery. I'm obsessed with embroidery myself and often bring a pillowcase to embroider-doodle on during craft shows. read more

Welcome to Sweetheartville! I'm Holly Hall, an Oklahoma prairie girl with her heart in the Ozark Mountains. Since I was small, I've felt a deep connection to the past and to the amazing, resilient women who have come before me.

I hope to empower my two daughters to live self-sufficient, creative lives by teaching them the skills of their great great grandmothers. I'm married to my partner in all things and best friend of thirteen years, and together we make our own brand of dark folk music as Welcome Little Stranger.  read more
