Bazaar Bizarre began in 2001 in the Boston-area as a hodge-podge of friends and acquaintances cobbling together their handcrafted DIY wares to sell and staging an offbeat entertainment extravaganza.

In 2004 the Bazaar Bizarre spread to Los Angeles and Cleveland and in 2006 Make took us under their wing to include the Bazaar Bizarre as part of the Maker Faire in the San Francisco-area every spring. read more

River Colors Studio is a yarn shop on the west side of Cleveland. Previously the home to Stitch Cleveland, they have a great variety of yarns. The concept of River Colors was born from the restless energy of a stay at home mom (me, Erika) who wanted to work but have flexibility as well. My mom was a first generation immigrant and taught me how to knit, crochet, sew, cook, clean and get what I want. My father was born in the United States, but lived in the Ukraine most of his formative years. He taught me how to love colors, create, be precise (I can be if I have to), be different and to be proud. Along with all of that wonderful informal training, I have lots of formal education— a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture (horticulture, to be more specific), and two Master’ s degrees, one in Health Care Administration and one in Library and Information Science. read more
