Sycamore Street Press on Unanimous Craft

Sycamore Street Press is dedicated to to combining fresh designs, sustainable methods, and the vintage charm of letterpress printing. In the fall of 2007, Kirk and Eva Jorgensen moved into a little place on a brick-paved road called Sycamore Street in Columbus, Ohio. A week later, a 1000 lb. Vandercook #3 letterpress took up residence in their dining room, and Eva began printing her hand drawn illustrations. Since then, SSP has grown into the full-time family business for the Jorgensen duo. We no longer print in our dining room, and we have relocated from the Midwest to the Mountain West, but we still print everything with care on our beloved hand-cranked letterpress. Being eco-friendly is important to us. We print and assemble everything in our Heber City, Utah studio using our vintage press that doesn't have a motor or require any electricity. We use 100% recycled paper, 30% post-consumer waste envelopes, 100% cotton paper (made from remnants from the garment industry), soy based ink, and low VOC solvents. We collaborate regularly with a few of our good friends, (the very talented Stephanie Ford, Kristin Mills, and Amy Shaffer) with whom we have created a collection of heirloom quality greeting cards, art prints, custom invitations, and other paper goods for you to enjoy. In addition, we collaborate with a different emerging artist each month to create The Sycamore Club limited edition prints. Sycamore Street Press goods are carried by over 140 fine boutiques and have been featured on Good Morning America, Daily Candy, Country Living Magazine, Design*Sponge, Poppytalk, Decor8, Design Mom, Apartment Therapy, and many more.
