Sublime Stitching on Unanimous Craft

Sublime Stitching is tiny! As in teeny-tiny! Sublime Stitching is an independently owned and operated honest-to-goodness home-grown business. It all started once upon a time...

Sublime Stitching was founded in Austin, Texas in 2001 by Jenny Hart, due to an overabundance of bunny-n-duckie patterns and outdated, overly-difficult instructions for embroidery. Unable to find alternative designs for embroidery that appealed to a new generation, Jenny decided to make them herself, and Sublime Stitching "This Ain't Your Gramma's Embroidery" was born.

Sublime Stitching introduced edgy embroidery patterns, all-in-one embroidery starter kits and entertaining, now-I-understand-it instructions to bring embroidery back to life for a new generation of needle workers. Hart's pioneering take on an ages-old handcraft was met with worldwide press and hordes of loyal crafters, thankful for finally having an alternative to geese in bonnets.

Over the last eight years, Sublime Stitching has become a cornerstone business of the alt-craft market and a model company of the DIY movement. Always offering unique resources for embroidery that appeal to stitchers new, and not-so-new to the medium. The tremendous success of Sublime Stitching led to a series of books of the same name with Hart's signature embroidery style for Chronicle Books.

This is a great resource for fun & unusual embroidery designs, some of them by the best & brightest (non embroidery) artists out there. This business is owned by Jenny Hart, who designs many of the embroidery packages available in the store. She has recently published a great little book on embroidery technique & her store blog is filled with all kinds of fun & interesting tidbits & art.

No, you can't sell her designs, though she's working on something, but the shop, etc is a great resource for technique & inspiration! Sometimes if you're lucky enough to be around at the right time, she even has a free download or two! If you're into embroidery & art, check out Sublime Stitching...
