Soopsee

What is SoopSee.com ? Your creativity is probably sprouting up all over the internet. You have an Etsy shop, a Flickr photo feed, a WordPress blog, a Zazzle page... and probably lots more. We think that’s wonderful :) But wouldn’t it be great for your customers, fans and followers to see all of that creativity in one place? SoopSee aims to unite all of your listings, shops, photos and scribblings under one roof (or rather, one website - your website).

Great Concept, Mixed Results

SoopSee has the right idea: take your Etsy shop(s), your blog(s), and (hypothetically) your gazillion other indie business web presences, and put them on one website.

If they keep working on it, this will be a wonderful resource.

When I list a new item in either of my Etsy shops, it shows up on my SoopSee site within a matter of hours and then tweets a customized automated message to my Twitter.
This is awesome. For this alone I'm willing to pay the $5 a month for the "Sooper" account.

My blog posts show up on the site. No pictures, weirdly formatted (or not at all) with every current template, but they're on there. Not bad.

As of right now, the way your page looks is limited to six templates (eight if you pay, but the extra two are almost identical and just variations of one of the free templates). They keep promising more templates and better editing capabilities, so hopefully the months of waiting will eventually pay off.

They keep promising other things to come, too, like Flickr integration, better editing and personalization of your site, etc. There's a board for suggestions and ideas, and I do hope they're working on things because this site has so much potential.

Carefully look through existing SoopSee sites before you decide to invest the time and/or money. If getting your multiple shop listings and blog(s) in one place is more important than the actual format of that conglomeration, SoopSee is for you. If you're a perfectionist or care about the look and feel of your personal SoopSee site, wait and see if they come through with promised changes before diving in.

I recently canceled my SoopSee account (giving it 2 stars because the domain transfer process has been relatively painless). They don't auto-renew your domain when it expires so my website was down for a month before I noticed. That was enough for me to cancel service.
