Man, we're hard on ourselves when we make stuff. Whether we craft for fun or for business, we judge ourselves harshly – are we good at it? Is it pretty? Will people like it? We judge ourselves so harshly that we ditch hobbies we used to enjoy, we put down our knitting needles, we insult our creativity. To all that, Mighty Ugly says "HOGWASH." Sit yourself down for a couple of hours and take the Mighty Ugly challenge. Make a creature that's ugly. Hideous. Revolting. What happens if you fail? Feel the freedom. Giggle. Mightyugly.com collects the goodness that comes from examining the ugly parts of, well, pretty much everything. Founder Kim Werker also leads creativity workshops for crafters, businesspeople, and non-crafters. The project is based in Vancouver, BC, but Kim isn't opposed to taking the show on the road.
