Matthew Porter on Unanimous Craft

Matthew Porter is a children's book illustrator and writer. He currently has four books published with Vancouver, BC publishing house Simply Read Books. An additional book is due for release in the summer of 2010.

Husband and wife duo Andrea and Matthew Porter owned Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store from 2002 - 2010 to highlight Matthew's now infamous monkey world series paintings and products. Bluebottle built a reputation for being at the forefront of the DIY indie art, craft and design movement. In 2010 Andrea and Matthew sold Bluebottle and moved full time to focusing on building the Matthew Porter Art line. The line features Matthew's childrens books and clothing. They sell at independent children's boutiques and book stores, at craft fair and online.

My whole family loves his work! I first discovered his work after checking out the Urban Craft Uprising Flickr page and saw a picture of his t-shirts. My daughter loves monkeys and had just received her first drum set, and he had the perfect drummer monkey tee! I headed over to his Etsy shop and have been in love ever since!
We now have a monkey collage of his art in my little monkey's playroom, and I keep asking my better half to get me a Punk Monkey to hang in my sewing room.
