Knitty Purls is just a short ferry ride to beautiful, scenic Whidbey Island and the charming town of Langley. Island Transit meets the ferry and the bus service is free on the “Rock”. Check out the bus schedule on the Langley Loop and leave your car and cares at home and venture to Knitty Purls. Knitty Purls sprang to life as a retirement occupation for several of us. After years of working at “real” jobs, it was time to pursue our love of knitting, crocheting, fiber, hand painted yarns and homespun. Our small, cozy shop with an inviting atmosphere has a selection of the classics: Cascade, Brown Sheep, Rowan, Debbie Bliss, Manos, and Malabrigo are just a sampling. But what truly inspires us is the different and unusual; Raven Frog Fibers, Jade Sapphire, Mt. Colors, The Fiber Company, Ester Bitran and Fiber Isle are just a few. We are continually searching for new yarns crafted from unique fibers at great prices.Our knowledgeable and skilled staff is currently enthralled by “Top Down Sweaters”. We love this sweater construction. Loads of patterns and samples featuring this wonderful way to knit are scattered around the shop.
