I joined I Shop Indie before the 2010 holiday season to advertise my online shop, which had just launched earlier that year. I Shop Indie ended up being my biggest source of traffic, other than my own blog or Google, for most of that time period, and I had definite sales come from it.

I've found it to be a very effective advertising tool - because indie businesses are pooling their money to advertise the I Shop Indie site (and in turn, their own sites - product images & descriptions on I Shop Indie go directly back to the product pages of your own site), we can advertise on much higher traffic sites than we could afford to otherwise.
