I began making jewelry back in 1988, when I was a student at the University of Washington. From the beginning, I really fell in love with the medium. I liked the intimacy of the scale; I liked the tools and techniques; and I liked working with metal. My work has changed a great deal over the years. What has remained constant is my love of making jewelry and working with metal, as well as my respect for the process of creating a thing by hand. I take great pride in the fact that I have never used mass-produced findings in my work. I have always made my own ear wires and clasps and do not anticipate ever changing that. I also continue to enjoy the creative challenge of coming up with new ideas and of solving new problems.
