San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas is home to an eclectic mix of cultures and has a vibrant arts community. From the SoFlo (south Flores street) district to the King Williams First Friday art show, to the Blue Star Art Complex and the Pearl Brewery shopping center and Farmer's Market, there is always something going on in this city of over 1 million people.

The rich culture of Mexico is apparent in much of the art in the city but there are many other cultures that shine through too. A visit to the Institute of Texan Cultures will show that there are more than 10 cultural influences in our city and the state.
 
The artsy and craftsy community is growing with a heavy influence from Austin, just up the road. Places like Crafty Girls Workshop (fabric and sewing classes) and Yarnivore (yarn, crochet and knitting classes) are leading the way to introducing the joy of creating something new to a younger generation in the Alamo City.
