Slow Loris came to life in Oakland, California in the spring of 1997. Inside a very small storage room in the basement garage of an old cannery building, the very first shirts were printed. After graduating from CCAC in 1998, Slow Loris founder Jessica Lynch left Oakland and returned home to Washington state. Re-locating to Guemes island, Slow Loris continued to thrive, screen printing drawings onto shirts, paper and clothing for people around the world, and for touring bands like Tv on the Radio and My Brightest Diamond. read more

In early 2004, when Chika was an intern at R.E.Load bags, she was sat in front of a scrap bin and told to make something. An hour later, she held a wallet and was encouraged to make more. Having a limitless supply of free cordura and vinyl scraps doubled the reasons to keep going.

Many wallets later, Chika met Jean, and making her best business decision to date, asked her to partner in the design, manufacture, and selling of their growing line of products.
