“Art on the Town”: Town Brookhaven & AFFPS team up for an outdoor Artists Market”
To continue its partnership with Town Brookhaven and mission to bring local arts and crafts to the public, AFFPS and Town Brookhaven have teamed up to host an outdoor Artists Market on three weekends in September.
Atlanta, GA August 12, 2013 – Town Brookhaven invites you to “Art on the Town” at an outdoor Artists Market presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces featuring 30 local artists and artisans on the greenspace entry to Town Brookhaven. The event will be held for 3 consecutive weekends in September and include acoustic music by local performers. The event is free to attend.
Town Brookhaven boasts 40 retail shops, restaurants and the popular Cinebistro theater. Art and crafts are the perfect addition to the growing development.
Town Brookhaven Artists Market will be the site for 30 artists and artisans including painters, photographers, jewelers and more during 3 consecutive weekends.
Admission: Free to attend
“An outdoor Artists Market brings a lot of fun to fall shopping. Even with all the art festivals going on, it’s great to have a place for local artists to set up “shop” and meet the public. For some artists, this is an introduction to the retail market. Town Brookhaven has a great tenant mix and close proximity to Costco so most people are familiar with the location across from a major MARTA station and near Oglethorpe University on Peachtree Rd. in the new city of Brookhaven,” says Patrick Dennis, President of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces.
“We see the Artists Market as a colorful introduction to the Town Brookhaven property since it’s literally the first thing one will see when they enter. With artists on site for just 3 weekends, shoppers will have to look fast before it’s gone!” says Lisa Windle, Festival Director for AFFPS.
“We’ve built a great relationship with AFFPS. They put on 13 art festivals in the metro area so we know the art and craft will be lively and first class at the Artists Market,” says Caroline Peek, the Sembler Company’s Marketing Director for Town Brookhaven.

Patchwork show is a bi-annual, modern handmade festival showcasing local emerging artists, crafters & designers. With products ranging across the board, each event celebrates handmade and regional producers—90% of the vendors at our shows are from the immediate region, and 99% within the same state. Patchwork also highlights local food producers, musicians and voices in the handmade movement with interactive programming, book signings and discussions at each festival.
Unlike the non-edible Patchwork Shows, Patchwork Edible is 65% food vendors & 35% craft vendors. This means competition for craft vendors at this event is fierce. Don’t let this discourage you from applying! There is no application fee and if you don’t get it in, we refund your booth fee in full. We will only be accepting a few vendors in each category, ie: one or two jewelry vendors etc… We are ESPECIALLY looking for craft vendors whose products are somehow food related like aprons, ceramic bowls, prints or cards with food or drink on them. Though we will be accepting some non-food related craft vendors as well.
City of Craft is both an alliance of community arts organizers that present and support local crafty activities and Toronto's largest independently run juried craft sale featuring craft-based installations, free workshops, and craft-related programming in local businesses and galleries.
