Over President's Day weekend, some 730 artisans converged on the Philadelphia Convention Center to exhibit in the 30th annual Buyers Market of American Craft trade show. BMAC is a wholesale trade show which specializes in high-quality, North American-made goods connecting artists with retailers, galleries and trade professionals who focus on artistry and originality. Product categories include Ceramics, Fiber, Wearable Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Inspired Interiors and Suppliers.

Shopping days left until Christmas are quickly counting down but there are still several craft shows left for you to find something handmade and unique to give someone on your list. Even if you’re a last minute shopper you will have craft shows to visit right up until Christmas Eve.

Tomorrow at 5pm, the first ever Urban Folk Art Show in Indiana kicks off, and the 30 or so vendors who will be in attendance are really hoping it kicks off with a bang and not a whimper. There's been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the Urban Folk Art Shows name ever since it popped on the scene sometime late last year.
Q: When was your inaugural show?A: The first Cowtown Indie Bazaar was held in the fall of 2010. We wanted to create a 100% handmade marketplace for local crafters to offer their goods.

Handmade Promenade, Standard Recording, Indie Volumes and Joyful Noise are as happy as fruit bats in an orange grove to bring back Commodore Von Keepsie's Magic Playhouse to this year's Broad Ripple Music Festival.

The INDIEana Handicraft Exchange Fall Mini will take place on October 8th from 5pm-10pm at the Harrison Center for the Arts, located at 1505 N. Delaware in downtown Indianapolis.
This fall event will feature 32 artists and crafters offering a wide variety of modern handmade arts and crafts.

The ridiculous summer we're having here in Seattle, WA (cold - rainy - and about 60 degrees - WHAT?) was made a bit better by the third annual Urban Craft Uprising summer show. Fantastic. I love this show second only to the Urban Craft Uprising winter show.

This weekend marks the kick-off of the craft fair season for many indie artists and crafters in Central Indiana with the return of the Bloomington Handmade Market.
The Bloomington Handmade market is taking place this Saturday, April 2nd, at the Bloomington Convention Center. The event is from 10am to 4pm and is free to attend.
