Urban Craft Uprising - 2011 Summer Edition (Seattle, WA)
The ridiculous summer we're having here in Seattle, WA (cold - rainy - and about 60 degrees - WHAT?) was made a bit better by the third annual Urban Craft Uprising summer show. Fantastic. I love this show second only to the Urban Craft Uprising winter show.
Below you can see our Shower Art banner. It has a picture of Doug (my husband) on the day he was born with a word balloon that says, "Buying local, handmade art makes you strong and pretty." And it's true.
(begin rant)
One gentleman hated our banner because we included the name of our business in Chinese. He thought that was racist. Only in Seattle can you be accused of being racist for INCLUDING another language. For Pete's sake, people. Seriously?
(end rant)

This is Laura Berger. Her art is amazing and it's rumored that she might be moving to the Pacific NW someday in the near future. (fingers crossed).

Tripper Dungan with his 3D paintings. That's right. I said 3D paintings. We have two hanging in our bathroom across from the toilet. The 3D glasses sit on a handy shelf so you can view some great art while you do your business. Perhaps not what Tripper had in mind - but still....

This is Anna Todaro. I bought one of her headbands at CakeSpy a few months back so I was happy to meet her in person at UCU.

More Anna Todaro headbands....

This is Jessie. He makes soap. Make soap, Jessie. Make soap. Delicious, delicious soap.

Check out all the amazing scents available at Estrella Soaps.

The sweetness that is Kristen Rask from Schmancy Toys (I made her website. Shhhhhhh.....)

I've pretty much always called Pamela by her shop name: Mucho. I even know her real name but I just think Mucho is cuter.

My newest obsession: socks by Kim Strang. You can wear these alone or over other socks. I've got two pairs so far...

Don't they look pretty all lined up in a row?

This is Moxie. Sometimes she and I have marathons where we watch Little House on the Prairie. She also wrote the book on felting. Literally.

And finally. The crowd. They came. They bought crafts. They loved it. We loved them.
