The Uncommon Craft Society of Indianapolis

The first meeting of The Uncommon Craft Society of Indianapolis is being held tonight! The inaugural meeting will focus on how the society will develop and operate in the coming months. Anyone is welcome to attend. An RSVP is requested, but not required.

Here is the working agenda for tonights meeting. The organizer of the UCSI is looking for feedback from those who live in Indianapolis but cannot attend tonights meeting. Please visit the organizers blog to leave feedback about the agenda prior to the event.

Topics to cover:

  • What role can the UCSI play?
  • What do you see the Society able to do for you? Should the Society be membership based?
  • Should members be juried in? Should membership be paid based on payment of dues? What is a reasonable amount for dues?
  • Would you pay membership dues if one of the benefits might be taking out  group ads in national magazines?
  • Blog/ Site development: Would you like to write blog articles for the USCI blog? Do you have skills to contribute to help develop the website?
  • Classes: Would you be interested in taking and/ or teaching business development types of classes as part of UCSI? What kinds of classes would you like to take? What would be a reasonable fee for classes? Would members get discounts?
  • Community Outreach: What part does UCSI play in community outreach and teaching the community about the handmade community?
  • Events: What kinds of events would you like to see UCSI host? Make and take events? Group promos at local fairs to draw attention to members?
  • What do you want out of the UCSI?
  • What activities would you like to see hosted in the future?
